House of Barshai Process
Process for House of Barshai, my debut resort show. The concept for the collection was a classic fashion narrative: an abandoned aristocratic house, perfectly preserved since the turn of the century — discovered in the modern day. The collection spins a web of interconnected characters, from the family dynamics of a dynastic clan to the objects and interiors that silhouetted their lives. Concepts explored were the idea of the wire gate coming undone (tissot bra), wallpaper (tissot dress), 1870’s sillhouetes (the long, train like effect that took hold between the bustle eras), pintucking (denim), and the “hair” bra.
